Who Has the Best Deal?

So in today's difficult economic times, we tend to only be able to afford fast food. This is actually true and far from an excuse. With all of our money going to debts and bills, there's barely enough for food. Being rejected for food stamps because I "make too much" makes it more difficult. So for those in the same boat as myself I will tell you where the best places to go if you're scrapping for food.
First if you have a little to spare for groceries, you want to go to SharpShopper. They are cheaper than the once cheap Grocery Outlet, formerly known as Ameilia's and actual grocery stores. Trust me it is and then get what you can afford. If you find the food you got doesn't stretch like you thought it would and you're not able to get to a food pantry, then your best bet is either Little Caesars (4 pizzas cost $20 and it lasts you a week) or Wendy's 4 for $4. McDonalds has their McPick2 for $2 which sounds like a better deal than Wendy's but it's not. The McDonalds McPick 2 for $2 is basically the $1 menu condensed and stripped down to fewer options and doesn't include a drink. Wendy's on the other hand gives you a small chicken nugget, small fries, small bacon cheeseburger, and small drink for $4. My boyfriend and I got it twice now because we were hungry and had enough for that.
It's not easy to eat healthy when $20 doesn't go far in ANY supermarket. The sad thing is, neither does $60. You can spend $20 at Little Caesars for 4 pizzas AND go to Popeye's Chicken for their 16 piece meal plus an order of popcorn shrimp for $40 and you have a better chance of having food for two weeks than going to ANY grocery store. That's really sad.
On top of that the system cheats you. Food stamps are given to people (some that is, not all) who are lazy and claim they can't work while those who really need them are denied because according to their GROSS pay (which is what you make BEFORE taxes are taken out, in other words what you DON'T bring home), they make too much. The interview they give you doesn't matter and while you are able to fight it, what's the point? They'll deny you all over again and you have to take time out of your workday to fight it which you lose money if you don't have the time to take off. Therefore you're stuck scrapping for food. So it's good to know what your resources are to survive. And that's why I post this to help those like me who are denied financial help, work your butts off, and not able to get the food you should be eating. It may not be healthy but it's food.
